BCT was founded in 2020 by Stefan Konrad Johansen and Malthe Reipurth, but the thinking behind the company started earlier — in the space between consulting, venture building and hands-on product development.

Before BCT, Stefan had seen the consulting world from the inside.
He had worked around ambitious projects, smart people and big ideas. But too often, the outcome was not a working product or a solution people could use. It was a presentation. A recommendation. A plan for what someone else should build later.
That gap between advice and action became the starting point.
Stefan moved closer to venture building and early-stage product development, working with ideas that had to prove themselves in practice — not just on paper. It shaped a belief that still defines BCT today:
Technology only creates value when it is built, tested and used.

At some point, it became clear that building real technology required more than a commercial and strategic perspective. It required deep technical capability. That search led Stefan to Malthe.
Malthe brought the ability to turn complex ideas into working software. Stefan brought the business, product and venture perspective. Together, they found the combination that became BCT’s core: understanding the problem, challenging the assumptions and building the solution.
Not as separate disciplines. But as one way of working.
Before BCT became BCT, there was ZentoSoft - a smaller and more experimental setup built around prototypes, venture projects and hands-on development.
It was not polished from the beginning. But it was practical, direct and close to the work.
That early phase shaped the company’s mindset. BCT was never meant to become another place for standard solutions, empty strategy work or technology for technology’s sake. The ambition was to build things that did not already exist on the shelf. To work on problems where the answer was not obvious. And to create technology that could make a real difference in practice. That is still the work we are here to do.

We start close to reality. We do not start with a predefined solution. We start with the work. The people. The systems. The data. The friction. The opportunity.
Only then do we decide what to build. Sometimes the answer is a prototype. Sometimes it is a custom platform, an AI solution, automation, integrations or a new digital product.
The format can change. The principle does not: We build technology that solves real problems.
BCT started with Stefan and Malthe. Today, we are a growing team across Denmark and Norway - bringing together developers, strategists, product thinkers and problem-solvers.
We have grown, but the foundation is the same. We believe the best technology is built close to the people who will use it, close to the systems it must work with and close to the value it is meant to create.
That is why we do not just advise from a distance. We help shape, build, test and implement.
