BCT was founded in 2020 by Stefan Konrad Johansen and Malthe Reipurth. But the thinking behind the company started earlier – at the intersection of consulting, venture building and hands-on product development.

Before BCT, Stefan had seen the consulting world from the inside.
He had worked closely with ambitious projects, talented people and big ideas. But far too often, the work didn't end with a product that worked or a solution anyone could actually use.
It ended with a presentation. A recommendation. A plan for something others would build later.
That frustration became an important starting point for BCT.
Stefan moved closer to venture building and early-stage product development, where ideas had to prove their value in practice – not just on paper.
It shaped a conviction that still defines BCT today:
Technology only creates value once it's built, tested and used.

At some point it became clear that building technology that actually worked took more than a commercial and strategic perspective. It took strong technical skills. That search led Stefan to Malthe.
Malthe could turn complex ideas into software that worked in practice. Stefan brought the business understanding, the product perspective and the experience from the venture world.
Together they found the combination that is still at the core of BCT today: understanding the problem, challenging the assumptions and building the solution.
Not as three separate disciplines. But as one way of working.
Before BCT became BCT, there was ZentoSoft – a smaller and more experimental setup focused on prototypes, venture projects and hands-on development.
It wasn't polished from the start. But it was practical, direct and close to the work that actually needed doing.
That period helped shape the way we think today. BCT was never meant to be yet another place for standard solutions, strategy work without action or technology for technology's sake.
The ambition was to build what didn't already exist off the shelf. To work on problems where the answer wasn't given in advance. And to create technology that actually makes a difference in practice.
That's still what we're here for.

We start close to reality. Not with a finished solution, but with the work. The people. The systems. The data. The friction. The opportunities.
Only then do we decide what to build. Sometimes the answer is a prototype. Other times a custom platform, an AI solution, automation, integrations or an entirely new digital product.
The format can change. The principle doesn't:
We build technology that solves real problems.
BCT started with Stefan and Malthe. Today we're a growing team across Denmark and Norway with developers, strategists, product people and problem-solvers.
We've grown, but the foundation is the same. We believe the best technology is created close to the people who will use it, close to the systems it has to work with, and close to the value it has to create.
That's why we don't settle for advising from a distance. We help shape, build, test and implement.
